I am proud to announce that Intrepid Studios has finished another student group site! The Business Association for Multicultural Students is a student group at the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota.

You can check out the site or read my detailed blog post on how I went about creating the site, including neat PHP and JavaScript scripts I utilized.

Website Release - Women in Business

I had the pleasure of working on a student organization website over semester break, namely Women in Business. Women in Business is a Carlson student organization run by women for undergraduate women to help them excel in their fields of study and facilitate career exploration. It was great fun working on this site, mainly because of the creative freedom I had. They were very pleased with the work I did and I'm proud of it as well. Some interesting bits of information:
  • The site uses the JonDesign's SmoothGallery script to create the cross-fading images on the front page. I also modified it to be XHTML valid using divs with title attributes.
  • For the photo gallery, I used Paul Armstrong's AwesomeBox script. I was going to use ImageFlow w/ Lightbox2, but I decided it was not the solution for their gallery style. I also use a thumbnail generating PHP script for thumbnails.
  • The site uses HTML content includes for events. This allows the officers to just create a file like, 20080214.html and the site will automatically generate the event information.
  • I integrated Blogger in their website for their blog, just as I have for this.
This project also opened the doors to several other projects I'll be taking on soon. Hooray!
