It's about time we had ourselves a new website and what better way to celebrate the new year than with releasing one?

You'll find quite a few new features, some of the them invisible to you, others prominent:

  • Back-end project manager: manages project information and releases
  • Tagging system: for blog posts and projects
  • Custom blog software: written using LINQ to SQL and works with the MetaWeblog API. Shamelessly borrowed design ideas from the Gawker Media blogs.
  • Design manager: manages our designs and supports custom fields and photo galleries
  • AJAX design viewer for the front page.
  • A custom jQuery carousel to showcase designs. (More on that later)
  • Dynamic Data features for showing data across the website.
  • URL Rewriting using the UrlRewriting.NET engine. Technically, this URL does not actually exist.
  • Automatically generated page titles from the web.sitemap and code.

The work isn't finished. As you may have noticed, some pages on the site are still under development. However, we decided that it was better to release a functioning site and iteratively enhance it. You should see lots of aesthetic changes in the coming weeks.

New Years Resolutions

This goes hand in hand with some New Years resolutions that some of our friends like Zach Johnson and Paul Armstrong have written about, which is contributing to the development of the web.

We will be posting some articles and guides on doing some of the more interesting aspects of our site, such as configuring our blog to support the MetaWeblog API using Linq to SQL.

As such, you will be seeing a lot of articles from us and releases of our projects that are open source. We are taking a content-centric approach to our new website, so that we can better help out other developers out there.

What can you look forward to?

  • An open-source Windows Presentation Foundation-based BlackJack game with animation, sound, and card counting methods.
  • The open-source release of our Torrent Typhoon meta-search engine.
  • Many articles on coding topics like customizing .NET Dynamic Data, dynamic SiteMap generation, and implementing the MetaWeblog API for content management.
  • Much, much more!

We hope you like the new site, be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed to get the latest updates.
